Weekend was good...despite a rather crazy & stressful week! Camera is broken (any suggestions on our next digital camera purchase?) so no new pics..maybe we'll take some video tonight!
What we learned this past weekend:
-Riley still loves the beach and the feel of sand between his toes! rad.
-3 hour naps on Sunday afternoons are fantastic- even of Jim was forced to take one too as Riley decided to use his chest as a human pillow and wail each time Jim tried to move him
- Teaching a child to wash his "pee-pee" should come AFTER we teach him to wash his face (he washed his peeper today and then promptly put the washcloth up to his face and gave it a good scrub- ha!)
- Nearly 32 year old women should not attempt going down a slide with twisty turns
- There's a fine line of "too many" baked beans for little ones!
- Riley always sleeps the best at grammy & poppy's house: After a week on NOT sleeping through the night, he sleeps a good 9 hour stretch there and the next night, it's couch city with Daddy by 12:30 am. Ugh.
- a cup/straw/lid combo from Starbucks with ice in it is hours of fun!
- oh, and Riley peed on the floor (of course, on a rug) this weekend when I let him have his "nakey time" before his bath...we think he did it on purpose b/c tonight, I did not take his diaper out and he pretended to squat twice in the house today and say " pee pee"! He also busted in on me this afternoon and went "PSssssssssssssssssssssssssss Peeee PEeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" Hilarious.
Anyway, summer is almost here...wooooo hooooo!

hand, foot, and mouth...
hand, foot, and mouth...um, and butt? Yup, Riley has yet another infection to add to his list- Coxsackie! We thought it was his ears but he was drooling like a crazy man and kinda listless, cranky and un-hungry (is that a word or is the sleep deprivation talking??)...I guess it's good that his ears are ok(One more week until we see the specialist- Woo!) but coxsackie (oh, the fun Jim and I have been having with variations of THAT word) is a virus, so there's it's untreatable until it runs its course.
On the good news front, Jim's Mom is doing great so even though it's been a rough week...we're hoping the weekend brings us better times!
P.s.- Riley only has the throat infection part of the virus..yay

Another week, another earache
Yup, Riley was sent home on Monday afternoon with a high fever- this infection just won't quit, so it was back to the pediatrician for a different antibiotic and then a round of sleepless, uncomfortable nights for all three of us. Last night was "my" night, and Riley managed to sleep through until 4:30am, which was a pleasant change of pace. Usually, Jim takes the brunt of the sleepless nights since he tells me that dealing with teenagers is much more difficult then his computer at work. I agree as the last 5 weeks of school are killing me.....I'm behind with the curriculum, I'm stressed, & most of the kids have already checked out for the year. I just can't wait until finals- then it's easy street for me! Woot! Back to the land of playdates and relaxing (well, when Riley naps or is at school, since he'll be going to school for 2 1/2 days a week)!
Anyway, despite this week's bout of illness, Riley has been mastering his Jekyll and Hyde act as he's calm and sweet one minute and throwing haymakers and freaking out the next, only to return to some level of normal within minutes. He's a freak, but I guess all toddlers go through this stage- I hope it ends soon (I hear all the parents with older kidlings laughing at me through the internet). When he acting normal and sweet, he's quite the charmer...and he now says "love you mama" on occasion, which is adorable and absolves him of all the craptastic events he has orchestrated up until that point.
Anyway, here's a few pics of Riley jamming on his drum. This doesn't last long as he usually tries to clock one of us in the noggin (*or worse, poor ol' Mags) or shoves one of the drumsticks down his mouth.
P.s.- Happy Mother's Day everybody! We're laying low in B-town- I've got the prom tonight, Uncle Woobs is visiting until tomorrow and Jim's making breakfast and dinner tomorrow (which to be honest, is not much of a change of pace as he usually does the majority of the cooking anyway).

Tractor Rides
Both Riley and Deville LOVED Dylan's Tractor (or Dumptruck...Loader, whatever)yesterday at the party- especially when Dave and Jim pushed them down the "hill" on it!
Pics from Mia's 1st Bday!
Fun, fun yesterday at The Stoudt House...tacos, birthday cake, candy pinata and all around good conversation. Oh, and we have confirmed that Luca does indeed exist, although geez, that kid can sleep! Abram was also in attendance, along with big sis Jonah, so it was good to see those cats as well.
On to the pics...
Pre-party
Riley in his "octopus" suit..otherwise know as, Jonah's swim floatie that we borrowed last summer-
Nosey Mags and Riley (Jim was packing the car)-
Pinata-
LUCA!!!!-
The new and improved Wojo Crew-
How did I manage to NOT get a picture of the birthday girl? I guess since I took a few with Michelle's camera, I thought I had a few good ones on my own. Ugh, I'm retarded.

This this, this, THAT?
Everything is This? This? That? these days which is good, b/c despite Riley's crap-tastic ears, he's been on quite the new vocabulary tear! He now says "Good bye" as opposed to just bye...which is of course, adorable. He says school, yellow, most of his teacher's names (Sara, Tara, Edie, Max)and some of the kids too (Kayla, Cassie)...and a whole slew of animals (duck, Maggie, doggie, cat). He said "giraffe" one day, but I think it was just a fluke as he hasn't said it again since. Jim taught him to say "rad" this week, which is hilarious. I say "cool" a lot so Riley has picked that one up too. He still can't say Luca...one of his newest buddies on the block- Luca is still "Caca" or "Dookie"...sorry Kar. He loves looking at his friends' blogs online though- he goes apesh*t when he sees a pic of himself on the computer. ha ha
Anyway, looks like we're actually going to get out of the house this weekend as Riley seems to be feeling good...yay birthday parties! We've had quite the unwelcome break from seeing many of our friends and their kidlings so Jim and I are psyched for Mia's first birthday today!
Oh, and last night we went out for thai food and he was a thai eating fiend...chicken satay, jasmine rice, shrimp & pineapple yellow curry rice and spicy pork pradgrow! It was insane...and of course, he flirted with all of the thai ladies (and even the male attendant).
Here's a few pics to tide you over until we post pics from all of our weekend fun!
Riley passing out much to early for our tastes...long hard day at school, I guess:
Riley playing sock puppet with Daddy (this is his duck):
Riley's pajama cape- one of the many ways that Jim occupies him while awaiting taking him to the Gym on Wednesday mornings while trying to work from home:
