Gross day yesterday = Indoor Adventure with the Pierces!
Gibson brought his parents over yesterday for a visit and it was the perfect remedy for a really crappy day out & especially since Jim was working from home for most of the morning/early afternoon. I wish I took some pics, but of course, I forgot, so you'll just have to take my word for it. Or Riley's word...Aunt Liz brought him a special cupcake and when he saw it, he said, "happy".
Gorgeous day today = Outside Adventure.
Since Jim and I hadn't been to Seaside (Sleaz-ide) in about 9-10 years, we figured we'd check it out today since it was so nice and warm out. Quite a few people had the same idea so it felt a bit more like summer than we expected. Anyway, here are a few pics, not too many of the little man though since he was too busy running around the arcades like a maniac!
Skyride? WOoo hoooo!
Mmmmm, flounder
What Me Worry?
Good thing we missed the polar bear plunge the day before...or else Riley might have joined in!

Snow Day!
So, Riley and I had our first snow day yesterday- woooo hooooo! The good news is obvious, as I didn't have to go into work! The bad news, my school waited until 5:45 to cancel the school day so I was already up & showered. Riley got up shortly after so it was an early morning for all of us- Jim took advantage (he works from home on Fridays now) and made us a hearty breakfast of bacon, taters, and eggs! Riley had his second snowfall (the first being last year) and he was in a mood, so the "snow joy" was fleeting. He did enjoy being inside the house watching Daddy shovel and throw snowballs at the window though, so maybe, he'll like the snow better next year.

Laundry Fascination....
Riley loves laundry baskets. As in, he often likes to play with them more than any squeaking, buzzing, talking, light-up toy that exists in our house...and we sure have our share of toys cluttering up the joint!) Personally, Jim and I love the resulting crazy hair from the static inside the basket. Below are recent pics of him whooping it up in his plastic high rise! Beans don't burn in the kitchen, beans don't burn on th grill!
Oh, and we had a "first" this weekend- Riley kissed us! We were playing pre-bedtime and Riley was in my lap playing with blocks and he looked up grabbed my face, puckered up & planted two sweet kisses on my cheek. So, I told him to give Daddy a kiss and he crawled over and planted one on Jim too. He hasn't doled out any more kisses since then but it's okay as his hugs ain't half bad! Riley is quite the hug-monster.

Valentines Schmalentines...
Jim and I don't really buy into the whole Valentine's holiday but we do usually get each other cards and a treat of some sort. I brought home some triple chocolate cupcakes from Starbucks (a tad on the sweet side but DELICIOUS, btw) on Thursday...here's a few pics from Riley's "taste":
Awaiting the Valentine's Cupcake:
Behold, the cupcake!
Am I allowed to touch it, daddy?
Just a taste, please:
Valentine's Day Rules!
Oh, and just so you can understand how much he loved this cupcake, he would take a bite and grin widely with his choco-teeth and squeal, "HAPPY". It was pretty darn cute.

Sing... Sing a Song...
Busy weekend, lots of visitors. Dinner date with Deville and his P's, and a surprise visit from Poppy and Grammy. On the way back from lunch, Grammy was giving vocal lessons. Unfortunately it seems that Riley was the only one paying attention....
In other news, Riley seems to be over his latest bout of ear infections and sickness, which is a good thing. He's learned his outside voice, but much to our dismay, loves to do it only when inside. Luckily we keep all our glassware tucked away or his high pitched squeals of glee would be leaving a trail of glass all over the house.
More pictures of the weekend to follow...

Hello February!
Well, it wouldn't be the end of an "AWESOME" month without Riley getting sick yet again. Jim played Nurse Daddy-Gale at the end of the past week since Riley had a double ear infection, chest congestion (still) and a high fever for a few days- he was exhausted (Riley, not Jim)and was pretty much out-of-sorts until today. We had to cancel out on celebrating Grandpa's Birthday on Saturday and we missed Blake's christening today, which was a bummer, as we were looking forward to both events. I think our pediatrician is going to start inviting us to family events! Luckily, it's now February and we're hoping this month and the upcoming months of Spring and Summer (yay!)are more kind to the little guy. Today was gorgeous out (as was last Sunday) so we hit the park up for a little soccer action and some swingin'. As you'll see below, Riley loved being out and about again...well, out and about that doesn't involve food shopping.
Anyway, here's a few shots of Riley being all needy and sick...
